Slow last couple of days. there’s a voice in my head that keeps nagging…”just go watch judge judy and forget about this nonesense. you’ll never do a whole album by the end of the month.”

The antidote to that seems to be “have fun and enjoy as much of the process as you can.” Even if I don’t reach my goal, I have already written more music in this last week than I have in the past several years.

1. Still have not worked out my cubase problem, but I thinkI have the solution.

2. Wrote a few new measures for “When It Will Bloom.” The Oboe is kinda rocking out now.

3. Going to start another song called “Vegan Snow Boots.”

4. “Serpentine” needs those shocky paddle things like they have in the ER or at least some mouth to mouth.

I didn’t know you were trying the RPM Challenge this year. I think the best attitude is to not focus on the goal. Just enjoy the process and do what you can. I’m not trying it this year though I did write a song recently that i actually like. Anyway, good luck with the rest of the month!

    Hi Mike,

Wow quite weird to write in white with a soft grey background here…. almost unable to read what I’m writing…. anyway…

So, noticed you’re into RPM. Don’t know about the details, but I actually entered FAWM, which is about the same, I guess. I have to write 14 songs in 28 days.

It’s supposed to be an album, but I had a clear option in mind : write 14 songs, in a basic form, guitar + voice & lyrics. If it sounds cool that way, I can do whatever I want with them later… Complete recordings are a long process for me, so I guess I chose the right option. And I’m almost sure I can make it. I’ll have 14 songs to arrange and record after…

So don’t give up, write at least the number of mandatory songs for that challenge, even if they’re far from perfect… Piano and melody only ? why not…

You said it : more music in this last week than I have in the past several years.

Keep on it until the end of february, you’re going to write more and more songs ;). Then don’t stop…

    See you,
    L
